fabric stash

Well I finally won (as I usually do) and got Corey to let me add another bookshelf to our upstairs.  I have been wanting a small bookshelf to put my fabric stash on.  Up until now, it has been in a large Tupperware bin and it has been difficult for me to keep up with what I have.  Now if you know me well, then you know that I have a problem with buying fabric and an even larger problem with not using it.  I have sewn very little since I learned to sew.  At least I'm honest?  In my defense I am one busy girl but I really have a lot of things I'd like to make for our babies as well as our friends who are expecting.  I thought this would be a good step in the right direction and it has encouraged me to not buy anymore fabric until I start using what I have!  It was like Christmas unpacking it all and organizing it.

That brings me to my next point - I decided to organize it for now into color families as best I could.  I'm curious if you have a fabric stash as to how you organize it.  I haven't decided if I want to use baskets or not at this point so I just folded it all and put it on the shelf.  I tried to explain to Corey that this is a common topic among the world of sewers (if that's a word)!  I also noticed that my blue stash is triple that of my pink stash - what does that say about me!? :)

Where do you get all your fabrics?
